OUR STORY

We Blame Vermont...

I had a coworker who recommended I go visit an alpaca farm in Vermont when he heard my family and I were taking an extended east coast vacation. I took his advice and visited a truly lovely, large-scale alpaca fiber operation where it was clear the animals were not only used to produce quality fiber, they were loved by the family. I couldn't stop thinking about parts of the operation they offered - school tours, visits with the alpacas up close and personal, a small store that sold alpaca goods, and my dream was born. It took 3 years of maneuvering to find the right spot at the right time, but we finally did.

ABOUT OUR ALPACA FARM

After Vermont, we decided we should probably investigate other ways of doing business. We went on an alpaca trek in Monterey, California where we walked alpacas, fed them, and learned about their care and personalities. We found a local ranch that specialized in high-quality fiber and taught us the ins and outs of operating both a fiber farm and an agritourist business.

It was an easy decision - we have no interest in breeding or cultivating quality fiber. We do have an interest in finding aging, well-loved alpacas and giving them a home where we can share our love of animals with others and maybe bring a bit of joy to your family with our silly girls. Our farm sits high on a hill where the Jarbo Gap winds move continuously through our trees and where the Lake Oroville Bidwell Marina and Sutter Buttes are visible almost every day. It's our own slice of alpaca paradise, and we're excited to share it with you.

One of the ideas we latched onto was making a visit to an alpaca farm affordable and fun. We want to make sure people can come meet our alpacas, feed them some treats, take as many photos as they'd like, and simply enjoy the scenery of our farm at the top of Yankee Hill. Our abundant fruit trees, shade, Jarbo Gap winds, and seating ensure you'll have a relaxing, enjoyable, and comfortable time.

We'll work with families on a budget to make sure you have the experience you want and hope that you pass on a good word or two about the great time you had visiting our ladies and our farm. Accessibility across all levels is critically important to us - my husband is a special education teacher and has a passion for helping children who others have given up on reaching.

Contact us to set up a visit. You'll be glad you did.
